The Great Pumpkin Event

The night was so much fun for all of us. Lot's of friends, food and prizes for pumpkin carving and chili.

The kids decided not to go along with my "Willy Wonka" themed family outfits. They wanted to be tough...just check out those weapons. Sugar is the pirate, Indigo Girl is Harley Quinn (The Joker's girlfriend), and Little-man is a CIA guy. Why couldn't they be an Oompah Loompah, Veruca Salt and Charlie? Wouldn't that have been sweet?

Mr. CHiPy went along with the idea. He's so good like that. Let's start with his outfit as Willy Wonka...the jacket started out as a graduation gown I found at Goodwill for $5.00 and modified into Willy's jacket, the top hat came from the Halloween store and started off black and then I spray painted it brown, the white shirt and tan pants Mr. CHiPy already had and a scrap piece of grey fabric became his bow tie...Not bad, eh?

The Wonka Bar - including the golden ticket - Felt from JoAnn's on sale for $2.99/yard. Total for entire outfit, craft glue and ribbon $9.00. I didn't use a pattern, just a picture of the Wonka Bar I found online.

Mr. CHiPy and Sugar won 1st Prize in the pumpkin carving constest...it's a goblin holding a trick or treat bag...

And Mr. CHiPy also won the award for the "Hot Killer Chili" (recipe coming...it REALLY is Killer good)

And a really fun night for our entire ward family and a great time for Willy and his Golden Ticket.

Oh yeah, and what about all that cornbread I made for this night? Not a single crumb left.

Sweet.
